oxytocin
IMPROVE YOUR MIND FROM THE INSIDE OUT
Oxytocin, often called the “connection hormone,” is a naturally occurring peptide that influences mood, bonding, trust, and emotional balance. At Huemn, Oxytocin therapy is used to enhance well-being, reduce stress, improve social and emotional connection, and support sexual health for both men and women.
Oxytocin is produced naturally by the hypothalamus and released by the pituitary gland. It interacts with oxytocin receptors throughout the brain and body to promote feelings of trust, connection, and calm. Therapeutic Oxytocin enhances these natural pathways, helping improve mood, intimacy, and stress regulation while supporting overall hormonal harmony.

RELEVANT STUDIES
Read below for studies endorsing the use of Oxytocin.
Heinrichs M, et al. (2003). Biological Psychiatry. — Double-blind, placebo-controlled; 37 healthy men received intranasal oxytocin (24 IU) or placebo before a standardized stress test; some also received social support. Oxytocin showed an anxiolytic (anxiety-reducing) effect, and oxytocin + social support produced the lowest cortisol and more calmness/less anxiety during stress.
Anagnostou E, et al. (2012). Molecular Autism. — Pilot randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial; 19 adults with ASD used 24 IU twice daily for 6 weeks. Primary outcomes didn’t show significant changes after adjustment, but secondary measures suggested improvements in emotion/social inference (“Reading the Mind in the Eyes”) and emotional quality-of-life; treatment was well tolerated in this small study.
Guastella AJ, et al. (2009). Psychoneuroendocrinology. — Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled; oxytocin (24 IU) or placebo given alongside exposure therapy in 25 people with social anxiety disorder. Oxytocin improved positive evaluations of appearance and speech performance as exposure sessions progressed (i.e., less harsh self-appraisal in the moment), but it did not improve overall treatment outcomes compared with placebo.
Schneider E, et al. (2025). JAMA Psychiatry. — Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial in couples; tested repeated intranasal oxytocin alongside a brief positive interaction task and tracked cortisol/stress plus skin wound healing over time. The trial tested whether oxytocin combined with positive/affectionate interaction relates to health-relevant outcomes like stress responses and dermatologic wound healing (immune-linked recovery).
